Andrea Marcum, author of Close to Om, invites you to Close to hOMe — a weekend of yoga, farm-to-table dining and environmental conservation in the Tuscany of the Midwest: Madison County, Iowa.

We stay Close to hOMe, but feel far away from it all. Here in our own backyard there are beautiful recovered prairielands, sustainable honey bee apiaries, responsible farming and inspiring environmental outreach efforts that this retreat will support and appreciate… all without an international flight.

Andrea’s connection to Iowa is personal. Her mom grew up in the tiny town of Menlo, and she brought her kids hOMe to the farm every summer. “Iowa Nice” is a thing, and we’ll climb into it together — both on our yoga mats and off.

You’ll enjoy daily yoga in the extraordinary Lone Oaks Farm restored barn, which doubles as the backdrop for our locally sourced meals prepared by acclaimed chefs. The Bridges of Madison County, prairie walks, and farm visits with onsite yoga are highlights to your weekend.

If you are flying in for the retreat (Des Moines International Airport - DSM) we highly recommend renting a car for your stay. We are located in a rural area and some of the accommodations are in Winterset, approximately 7 miles away. If you are not renting a car and need airport transportation, we can provide it for $50 each way. Please come back to this link to purchase your transportation if needed.
